Around September, for me at least, the change in the seasons seems to accelerate without remorse. Very quickly the difference in water and temperatures will change (so less chance of mists on the water and sunrise moves quickly past what I might call 'normal' wake up times. It's a season of seizing the moment but also responding to what you have in front of you.
The image above represents some of my favourite conditions and with a reasonably long lens you can compress the mist and make different compositions with the boats. But of course it's not always like this.
The wetter autumn means more moisture in the air so more chance of mist but it's not a rule. I'm learning, especially with early mornings to watch and enjoy how the light develops. I guess it's a more mindful approach. I might also mean I'll be using the shutter less! Perhaps it's both seasons change and ideas change.
