Locations

The Deben is a small partly tidal river in the east of England. The part I know well is the tidal part from Melton to the sea at Felixstowe Ferry about 8 miles downstream. The river is bounded by low mud cliffs and salt marsh and is a haven for birds. It’s also a very popular for recreational uses. These are a few of my favorite locations.

Ramsholt
Ramsholt is a tiny village on the Northern shore of the Deben.
Bawdsey Quay
Bawdsey is at the mouth of the Deben with river and sea views.
Waldringfield
Waldringfield - a charming village close to the river with atmospheric sunrises.
Kyson Point

Woodbridge
Woodbridge is a charming historic port almost at the top of The Deben’s tidal part.
