The iconic Tide Mill -which was the last commercial working mill in the UK is unmistakable on the waterfront. This small town offers good transport links and facilities.
The waterfront is probably the main photographic interest with a mixture of harbour and river views. Beyond the town the river wall walk offers good views of this part of the Deben.
In season you can hear cuckoos, see the occasional Kingfisher and the local seal might join the wading birds.

Photographic Opportunities
There is a waterside walk from the harbour to Kyson Point (about 1 mile downstream of the Tide Mill)
Around the Tide Mill and Harbour there are opportunities for both images of boats in the harbour and of the Tide Mill and River. This includes an Anglo Saxon Replica ship that may be moored in the harbour.
As you walk downstream past the boat yards and sailing clubs there are numbers of boats and pontoons that can provide good subjects and leading lines. The numbers of boats vary according to the time of year.
After Deben Yacht Club the river wall walk opens up to give views back to Woodbridge and down the river. There are small banks of salt marsh to the river side and grazing to the other. In a number of places you can get closer to the water to aid reflections.
The sun rises directly across the river (depending on the time of year) and provides great light around the time of sunrise before it gets too strong. The mornings are also the time most likely to have calmer waters for reflections.
The high tide will completely cover the mud and for an hour or so either side. At other times you can expect to include mud in river compositions!
